Second Interview Questions and Answers

Second Interview Questions and AnswersSecond Interview Questions and AnswersYouve made it through your first bewerberbewerbungsinterview with flying colors, and you have been invited to a second-round interview. What will you be asked during asecond interview? Some of theinterview questionsmay be the same as the questions you were asked at thefirst interview, but others will be very different. To make it through the next round, youll need to be comfortable with both the standard interview questions and thecurve-balls, while paying special attention to topics that are most likely to come up in this leiter of theinterview process. During a second interview, you will also be asked more specific interview questions about the job, the company, your ability to perform in the role, and how your skills and abilities translate into what the company is seeking in the candidate they are going to hire. SampleSecond Interview Questions and Answers What challenges are you looking for in a posi tion? -Best AnswersWhy do you want this job? -Best AnswersWhy are you the best part for the job? -Best AnswersWhat applicable experience do you have? -Best AnswersWhy are you interested in working for this company? -Best AnswersWhat can you do for this company if we hire you? -Best AnswersWhat do you know about this company? -Best AnswersWhy do you want to work for this company? -Best AnswersWhy should we hire you? -Best AnswersWhat are your salary requirements? -Best Answers Further samplequestions about your career goals. -Best Answers Company and Job-Specific Interview Questions Depending on the type of position youre interviewing for, youll be asked questions that will require detailed responses. For example, if you are interviewing for a sales job, youll be askedinterview questionsabout your sales achievements. Be clear about how you can help the company and how you will grow sales and market share. For these types of questions, youll need to tailor your responses to reflec t the companys products, services, and goals. The best way to prepare to answer questions about how you will perform is to learn as much as you can about the job and the company. Review job specific interview questions. The more you know, the easier it will be to relate your skills to the companys needs. Also, review examples of the questions interviewers askcandidates for specific types of positions, so youre ready to respond. Talk to your connections. If you have connections at the company, talk to them to get as much insider information as possible. You want to know both how the company wants to be seen and what they might prefer not to advertise (although, of course, youll concentrate on the former during your interview). Review what you learned in the first interview. Think back to the information that was shared with you during the first interview, and use it as a starting point to prepare for the second. Check out the companys website, Facebook page, Twitter feed, Instagram, a nd LinkedIn page. Check Google News for the latestinformation about the company. Share an example of what youve learned. Heres an example of aresponse to a question about what you are most looking forward to about the position I am excited by the opportunity to play such a critical role in helping the organization achieve its goal of providing excellent customer service. I know your company prioritizes customer satisfaction across all departments, and that is something I have been passionate about in my ten years in retail management. I would love to bring my experience in managing retail staff to your organization. Be Prepared to Share More Information If you have aportfolioor other work samples, its important to bring them with you to this round of interviews, even if you showed them in your first meeting. During the second interview, its not uncommon for companies to bring in other people, such as prospective team members or other employees who might work with you on a day-to -day basis. Some of these people might be fairly spontaneous additions to the interview process, so youll want to be prepared to give yourelevator speechand demonstrate your skills and abilities effectively and efficiently in order to catch them up on who you are. Its important tosell yourself to everyone you meet, because each person you talk with may have input into the hiring decision. For example, if you aretaking partin apanel interviewand are asked about your previous experience, you can use this as a chance to show the entire group your portfolio I have five years of experience working on marketing campaigns in the healthcare sector. Ive brought along the three samples from my most recent marketing campaigns, which I showed Mr. XYZ the last time we met. However, I also have materials from another campaign I worked on, for which I was personally commended by the director of the organization. Make a Match Before the interviewis the right time tomatch your credentials to the employers job requirements Reviewthe job postingyou applied for, as well as other company job listings. You will get a good idea of what the company wants from the people they hire by reviewing the job descriptions.Make a list of your qualifications that match what the employer is seeking in the perfect candidate. Prepare some examples of how youve used the attributes that are the best match at work. Your goal is to convince the company that you are the candidate who can help them reach their goals. If you provide actionable information in your responses, youll be well-positioned. In addition, reviewbehavioral interview questions and answersbecause they are designed to elicit responses that include specific examples of how you achieved results. Think of some examples of how you handled situations that are similar to what you would be doing if you were to be hired for this job. Give Consistent Responses Remember to be consistent. Your interviewers are going to compare notes, so it is important that what you tell one interviewer matches what you tell the others.Review yourresumeahead of time and take notes after your first interview. This way, youllremember what you said the first time around. When asked a question similar to one you were asked in your first interview, you might even refer back to your previous answer,as follows Yes, I am very confident using a number of content management systems, including WordPress and SharePoint. As I mentioned when we met in April, I am currently taking an online course to learn how to use Django. I have one week left in the course, and now feel very confident with this system as well. Second Interview Questions to Ask the Employer Its important to have questions ready to ask the interviewer. Since you dont want to repeat what you asked in the first interview, have adifferent set of interview questionsready to ask during yoursecond interview. Here aresomeexamples ofquestions to ask the employerduring a second job i nterview. What is one thing you love about the company culture here? How do you think an employee in this department can best impact the company? How do you measure job performance in this role (department)? Tips for Acing the Interview Just because youve been invited for a second interview doesnt mean youwill get a job offer. In this competitive job market, most employers conduct second interviews and sometimes eventhird and fourth interviews. Be prepared for your interviewer to either remember everything you said in the prior interview, or to need the occasional refresher on your details. Dont take it personally if he or she seems to draw a blank momentarily the interview process is long and involved for hiring managers as well as applicants. Even the most meticulous note-takers can lose a detail or two. Most importantly, dont assume that because youve made it this far, its a done deal.Prepare carefully for each and every interviewto enhance your prospects of turning your interv iew into ajob offer.

Here Are Alternatives to Downsizing

Here Are Alternatives to DownsizingHere Are Alternatives to DownsizingOne of the biggest expenses for many business owners is the cost associated with hiring, training, and maintaining employees- and in terminating their employment. When companies downsize, one of the first places they look to trim costs is by reducing the number of employees and/or employee-related expenses such as benefits packages. Downsizing is sometimes necessary, but never to be taken lightly. It sends a message to stockholders and investors as well as to customers that a business is struggling. Layoffs also contribute to lower employee morale and may even lead to other employees being concerned about their jobs and leaving on their own. Consider All Your Options Before laying off employees, be sure that you have looked at all the options, including asking your employees what they would be willing to sacrifice for the good of the company. Employees can show surprising loyalty and flexibility for the good of the company, and to save their jobs when being faced with downsizing or layoffs.Because employee morale will always be affected when a company downsizes, it makes good business sense to allow employees to chime in with their opinions and feelings. Few things make employees feel less valued than to surprise them in a meeting or memo that people will be let go. Your employees are in the day-to-day trenches, and some may even have ideas on how to save the business money or be willing to give up benefits, change their hours, or make other accommodations to keep their jobs. Solicit Your Employees for Their Ideas Never underestimate the value of simply asking your employees for their suggestions and ideas. Even if their ideas do bedrngnis make good business sense and cannot be put into action, you, as the employer, will have demonstrated to your workers that they matter. This morale booster may prove beneficial to employees who remain in your employment, especially if their job duties increa se as a result of laying off other workers.Offer Job Sharing If you can combine the skills of two employees into one position, job sharing can help both employees keep their jobs but will cut your hourly wage costs. This may not work for all employees, but for some, reduced hours may be a preferable alternative to losing their job. Cut Back on Employee Benefits Most workers need their health insurance benefits, but other benefits like vacation pay or sick leave may be able to be trimmed down, or your policies can be revised to make them more cost-effective. For example, requiring employees to work a certain number of hours to accrue paid sick leave, rather than offering it all up front, can spread the costs out over time.Change Your Work Week Many local governments throughout the country save money by staying open for business four days a week instead of five. This saves on salaries as well as operating costs. When You Do Have to Lay Off Staff If layoffs are coming, you either need to make the details as public as possible to avoid panic or keep things completely under wraps. When information is leaked, it is often misinformation that ends up as gossip and can cause employee relations problems. Have a plan in place in advance for those you are terminating.Offer severance pay if you can and consider handing them an exit package with tips on job hunting, job leads, reference letters, and special resource and hotlines for the unemployed. Try not to feel too bad as hard as it is to lay off anyone during a downsize, if it is necessary in order to preserve the longevity of your business, you can rehire when you are in a better position to do so.Every day, businesses all over the world reorganize and downsize. It is nothing to be ashamed of, it is just an unfortunate reality for many businesses. Remember, though, before laying off employees, be sure that you have looked at all the other options.

How Long Are Army Deployments

How Long Are Army DeploymentsHow Long Are Army DeploymentsWhen considering which branch of the military to join, there are a lot of factors to weigh. One of the most important things for many new recruits, especially those with families or planning to start families is how often and for how long he or she may be deployed. The separation of deployment can take a toll on family members and is particularly difficult for parents of young children. So its not a decision to be undertaken hastily. Soldiers Deploy Frequently Soldiers on active duty in the Army deploy mora than any other branch, with the possible exception of the Navy (although most Navy deployments are on ships at sea). How often you deploy depends on whether the U.S. is involved in any ongoing conflicts. Deployment is also heavily determined by your Army job. For example, a combat job, such as infantry, or armor, would deploy more often than an administrative job, such as finance clerk, or legal specialist. Keep in mind that administrative jobs do deploy, just not quite as often as combat or combat support jobs. The average Army deployment rate can range from 12 months deployed, followed by 12 months at home station assignment, to 12 months deployed, 24 months at home. Stop-Loss Its worth noting that the Army has made more use than other branches of the stop-loss program, which means they keep soldiers beyond their normal separation date if they have been scheduled for a deployment. This is affected by a variety of factors but mostly has to do with a shortage of personnel in a given geographic area, a shortage of personnel in a particular job, or escalation of a conflict requiring additional soldiers. Why the Army Deploys Soldiers So Often The oldest of all U.S. military branches, the Army welches established by the Continental Congress on June 14, 1775. Before Sept. 11, 2001, the Army was organized for large-scale deployments, mostly of mechanized divisions of upwards of 15,000 soldiers e ach. It was time-consuming to deploy such large forces and difficult to do so in a timely fashion. The Marines were the branch typically called upon when a situation required deployment on short notice. But the Army reorganized its forces into brigade combat teams (BCTs) of a few thousand soldiers, with brigade support battalions (BSBs) serving as combat support. By 2007, the Army had reorganized to 42 BCTs and 75 BSBs. This new focus on making the Army more nimble has allowed for more frequent deployments. Impact of Deployment on Families The Army offers families a family separation allowance, payable to the dependents of soldiers who will be deployed for 30 days or longer. Known as an involuntary separation, the allowance is intended to alleviate the financial burden of having the soldier away from his or her family for long periods. If youre considering joining the Army, take into account how much time you may spend away from home. Be sure you can handle the responsibility be fore taking the plunge.
